Returning home from University gave me the opportunity to re discover my home city, Newport in Wales. I noticed a silhouette of the city centre market building on the back of a local bus. The advertisement worked as I went and had a look.

Built in 1854, Newport Market stands tall and strong. It was sad how empty the building was but the stalls that remain, are busy. I was particularly interested in the architecture of the building.

In the few visits I have carried out, many local people have approached me to talk about what I am doing. The interest is wonderful and it is always great to hear local people talk about how proud they are of our city.
